A few years ago I read Peretti's "This Present Darkness" and it has remained on my heart and in my mind ever since. Recently I started looking for the sequel in the library and could not find it! So i downloaded it on Kindle and could not put it down! I have re-read the first story and moved right into the second one, so it is best read in sequence to fully understand "What happened in Ashton." Sally's story is gripping, full of mystery and intrigue, and you find yourself pulling for her even though you know what her past is! Peretti weaves together the story of lives and how they are connected with each other. The events and seemingly innocent occurrences in the lives of the characters reveal themselves as every piece of the puzzle comes together in a way that only Peretti can do.
