JYC Center Pinch Snap On Front Camera

JYC Center Pinch Snap On Front Camera

Ok I had a 6.1 mega pixel camera before this one and took some wonderful shots with it, really amazing stuff! But this guy...this thing blows my old camera out of the water even with the most mundane shots. 18.2 mega pixels 30x zoom timer where you can take 10 snapshots in a row, veraible shutter speed, smile detectory, GPS compatable...Ok the GPS is a little much but overall I cannot rave more about the quality of this camera, makes me want to grunt like a tool-man: HOH! HOH! HOH! I digress, this particular package also came with carrying case, memory card, screen protector, extra battery, cleaning kit, and HDMI cable for direct hook up to a PC or TV for HD video...oh yeah...the sucker also does HD video recording!! This was a bit expensive but now that I've got it I have to say was worth every penny. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

Best bag I found

Tamrac Adventure Photo Backpack Black

Tamrac Adventure Photo Backpack Black

I'm very pleased with the Adventure 7. The crucial question I had was 'how much can I fit in there.' I was expecting to fit the camera with a lens attached, a second lens, and a flash. I managed to fit: a Nikon D40 w/ 18-200 attached, an SB-800 flash, a Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6, a Sigma 30mm 1.4, and a Sigma 50-150mm 2.8. I could even squeeze an Acratech Ultimate Ballhead above the Sigma 30mm. There is yet a little more space in the middle section below the D40 body and to the side of the 18-200, but that would be a really awkward spot. Granted, this takes some packing finesse, but it shows exactly how much you can fit in if you are really determined. The upper section is modest, but fine for a light jacket, lunch, and snacks for a day hike. (My jacket is pretty light, I could see a heavier jacket making it harder to fit as much else)

I bought the Tamrac cinch straps to lash a tripod to the underside of the backpack. Shame on Tamrac for not just including them. I use a Gitzo 1558T, which is 14" folded up, so it pretty much matches the width of the backpack, not sticking out to catch on something. If you want to carry a longer tripod, that might not work so well - I wouldn't want a tripod sticking out six inches on each side, for example.

I like the fact that the backpack does not scream "Expensive Photo Equipment!" like a photo backpack with "Canon" or "Nikon" on it would. With the latched and zippered access to the photo section, I'm not worried about somebody covertly unzipping the backpack.

My one annoyance is the abundance of straps. While a good idea conceptually, with both waist and sternum straps, you have a lot of loose strap ends hanging about. Not to forget the loose strap ends for adjusting the shoulder straps. I might trim them at some point. In all, when the worst complaint I have is about long straps, that means I'm pretty darn pleased.

Dropcam Wi Fi Wireless Monitoring Camera

Dropcam Wi Fi Wireless Monitoring Camera

What a cool product! Corky the Corgi, also known around here as "Bottled Lightning", does figure eights around the living room when I talk to him over the new Dropcam. :)

The apps (we use both - one on my iPhone and one on my husband's Android) are really convenient, fast, and well designed. You can even toggle the recording on and off remotely. The video is great during the daytime and pretty good at night -- already caught a few nocturnal Corgi adventures to share with our friends (no, Corky, the scary new coat rack in the entryway is not coming to steal your humans tonight!).

We also used the Dropcam as a security camera while the whole family was on vacation last week, no prowlers or burglars to speak of (thank God!), but it was nice knowing our place was safe the whole trip! Great job Dropcam!

Olympus Digital Camera 3 Inch Monitor

Olympus Digital Camera 3 Inch Monitor

If you are on the market for a small camera that you can carry around with you all the time, that would also produce high quality images if not all than most of the time, and unwilling to spend 1500 on Leica X1 you know your choices are very limited.

So far there were only tree cameras that I narrowed down - Canon PowerShot G12, Panasonic Lumix LX5, and Nikon Coolpix P7000 but none of them appealed to me, for different reason.

Canon has the lowest image quality of these three (still very decent compared to other compacts), Nikon is too large and looks errr, odd, and Panasonic produces very strange, sometimes unnatural colours.

I was awaiting for the forthcoming Fujifilm FinePix X100, but it looks like it will be difficult to get for a while due to low production after the quake and very high demand (yes, it's that good), so no price reductions quite for some time, and 900 is still a lot for a regular person who just wants to make good pictures of his kids and some views from the trips.

Olympus XZ-1 comes as a very good and reasonable choice. It has larger image sensor and very wide and bright lens that lets lots of light through. As a result all images are of a very high quality, both on screen and in print. It is easy to operate, especially if you shoot in automatic settings like me. Good speed and decent battery life. Very light to carry around. Have only been using it for a few days but very positive results so far. Will update this review once (if) I hit some major drawback.

Some people note that it has not-so-good video recording, but I am not using as as I have a dedicated, and very good Sanyo camera for that (which does poor still images, which only proves the point that every product can only excel at one thing).

PS. I've updated the firmware straight away as it seems there were some focus problems with earlier models.

RainbowImaging 77mm lease Nikon LC 77

I got this tripod head along with a Manfrotto 055XPROB to use with a Vortex Razor spotting scope. I intend the use to be mostly for birding and digiscoping. The 393 head is exactly what I hoped. Solid, sturdy and well constructed. No problem with the foot/slide mount, the head assembled just as it should have and the balance with the scope or scope/camera is adjustable and just right (I did have to turn the scope around on the head when I attached the camera but the head is made for this and it was extremely easy. Just slide it out, turn it around and slide it back in). For me the weight is not an issue, I find it kind of comforting and the entire combo is pretty impressive to look at when assembled. I use the 393 withthe inner "U" in the down position and can achieve nearly vertical viewing (my Razor has the angled eyepiece). I like this much more than my pan/tilt head and while I have not used one of the more expensive Gimbal heads, I don't feel any need to. Very happy.

My favorite lens brush

Adorama Lipstick Brush

Adorama Lipstick Brush

I bought the T4i with the new STM version of the 18-135mm lens as a "more portable" camera when I am out and about. I normally shoot with a Canon 5D with my trusty 24-105 L lens when I am around the house. Between the 5D and the T4i are six years and boy has this little Rebel evolved into an amazing tool.

I picked the T4i over the T3i due to the amazing and useful touchscreen, STM lens for silent focusing and IS to shoot video with , and for the new upgraded autofocus. Coming from the very original 5D, I have been very frustrated with focus accuracy. Many times, the focus target would either be front or back focused depending on the lens. And it was NOT user error. Canon was well aware of the issues. I can definitely say that the new STM Kit lens locks on to focus quicker than you can blink and does so in utter silence. It's almost eerie how little your hear at all. I rely on the focus beep to know when I have achieved focus. The lens itself is reasonable sharp for the given wide focal length.

I will repeat like many here how useful and smart the touchscreen is when you are reviewing a pic and want to see if the critical parts of your subject are truly in focus. For those who come from smart phones with touchscreens, it's pretty intuitive as to what gesture you need to zoom in and out and to drag the pic around the screen. However, I will concur that the focus by touch feature is pretty useless and slow. I am old school so I always use my optical viewfinder so it's a non issue. AF speed is significantly faster using the viewfinder vs. the touchscreen.

Also worth mentioning is that the T4i comes with an external mic input if you want to use your own mic with video. Too bad there is no earphone jacks to monitor audio levels with.

In conclusion, I think the T4i is simply terrific. Canon has finally fixed many of the flaws related to AF and lens noise with video shooting. Pictures at high ISO has about the same level of noise as the T3i, which is good. So for those of you sitting on the fence about a Cropped Sensor DSLR form Canon, you have your solution right here. If you have a T3i, then I would advise against upgrading unless you want to shoot videos with the built in stereo mics.

Cell Nerds Protection Compatible compatible Skyrocket

Cell Nerds Protection Compatible compatible Skyrocket

After I put my phone in the case I dropped it without a scratch or a mark; the case absorbed the impact just as it should. That was the reason I purchased it and it worked beautifully at protecting an expensive phone. For the price this is a strong and well constructed case.

Someone in a review stated that the skin cover for the usb port broke off and he repaired it with tape. The same happened to me today and I did a quick fix as well. But only having the case for a few days I called Cell-Nerds directly and spoke with James. Once I told James what hapened he told me that a new skin would go out in the mail today. I was ready to buy a skin, if opossible, and he simply volunteered to send a replacement at no cost. THAT is REAL customer service!

Bottom line: It's inexpensive, it fits, it protects and it's backed by great customer service.

Blue Note Collectors Various Artists

This lens is, hands down, one of the most phenomenal lenses I've used. I mainly do convention photography taking photographs of cosplayers so this lens falls in to my sweet spot for a few different reasons.

Wide open at f/1.4, this lens is SHARP. Nail the focus and the subject will really stand out from the background. Combined with the pleasing bokeh, excellent color, and very useful focal length, there is absolutely no reason to pick the Nikon 35mm over this, especially considering the price, unless you want/need weather sealing. This lens has none but, for my usage, I'm OK with it.

The look is subtle so you won't be SCREAMING attention and the feel is very professional. The focus ring has a very assuring firmness when turning. I did have to use AF tune of -6 but this does not detract from the shine of the lens. Because this is an Art series lens, it is compatible with the USB dock Sigma will be releasing. This should future-proof the lens to be compatible with new camera bodies. Time will tell.

I highly recommend this lens. If you're still on the fence, rent it, then come back and buy it! I am very excited to see what Sigma has in store for future Art, Contemporary, and Sport series lenses. This lens has restored my faith in Sigma and has put other lens makers on notice to really step up their game to compete.

Godless Americana

Godless Americana Race Religious Rebels

Godless Americana Race Religious Rebels

Sikivu's Americana will have you musing at the space contemporary cultural characters like Honey Boo Boo occupy and in the next breathe, have you ponder the true intentions and operative strategies of political heavy weights such as Newt Gingrich.

Godless Americana is a thoughtful and beautifully written book on the broader cultural climate people of color live in. It is also, at the same time, the lens from which people of color see through. This book is the articulation of complicated daily negotiations and all too common clashes/ indignities people of color are subject to as citizens that are pathologized and marginalized by a dominate culture. Sikivu's book premieres on the heels of a sixteen year-old African-American girl who has been charged with two felonies for conducting science experiments where no one was hurt and no property damage occurred.

Sikivu: Thank you for taking the time to include the often overlooked experiences of Latinos in United States. I really appreciated the connections you illustrate between Black and Brown communities.

Video light kit optional with this lens

Voigtlander Nokton Manual Focus Micro

Voigtlander Nokton Manual Focus Micro

I rented this lens for my Pany Af100 video camera. I was hired to do a series of interviews in Florence and wanted a nice bokeh and DOF control as well as something that I can squeeze into tight shooting situations. Brought a light kit with me, but used it only once because it was night time and even then probably could have used the table lights present. The Af100 has built in ND filters so it was pretty easy dialing it in when I had a lot of light, but was able to pull off shots in tight darker places fairly easily. Had to use the focus assist on the AF100 to pull focus and even then, if it was wide open, I had some issues if the subject moved an inch or two...I would have their ears in focus, but the facial feature would start going soft. That DOF is incredible. I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and while it can shoot pretty nice DOF, the field of view is cut considerably because of the multiplier factor on the micro 4/3 chip. The 25mm helps considerably, and makes tight shooting situations easy to handle. On the other hand, you have to get somewhat closer than usual to a subject sometimes for framing.

I rarely took this solid lens off when I had it for the 10 days and I'm planning to purchase one. And as one other reviewer said...the lens cap is a bit suspect. Other than that

Bayonet 55 250mm Please camera ordering

Bayonet 55 250mm Please camera ordering

I have owned cameras in the PowerShot line as well as DSLRs. I purchased this camera to replace an aging PowerShot for everyday use for my family.

Relative to other point-and-shoot cameras I have owned it is amazing. It is on par with my old DSLR from seven years ago. If you just want to point and shoot it does a great job of that.

The camera is in the SX family meaning extended zoom, which it does very well. It has a maximum zoom of 500mm equivalent @ f/6.8. That is a pretty reasonable f-stop at deep zoom, especially when comparing the costs. For comparison, the off-brand Sigma DSLR lens for Canon cameras that reaches 500mm @ f/6.3 costs just over $1000, or much more for on-brand lenses. The picture quality isn't as good as a much more expensive DSLR+Lens set up for deep telephoto, but the results are still more than adequate for using on the web professionally.

The camera is full featured. The GPS and auto-tagging is nice for camping and backpacking, or whatever form of travel you are in to. My teens love some of the features like auto-detecting when everyone is smiling and automatically taking a picture, the wink-to-self-timer, and the miniatures mode. Sunsets and flowers look incredible when 'extra vivid' is turned on.

Now the down side.

Canon chose a tiny battery to fit in the tiny case. From an aesthetic viewpoint this makes sense. They want it small, lightweight, travel size. They want it to fit in a pocket.

However, considering the primary use as a travel and camping camera this makes much less sense. Yes, the camera must be conveniently small, but not by sacrificing usability. Recording video goes from a fully charged fresh battery to the camera powering off in about 30 minutes. Leaving the camera on while you walk a trail and take photos gives you slightly more than one hour of battery life.

If you are going camping or backpacking or traveling without a battery charger, plan on going through at least one battery pack per day, possibly more. The battery packs are not very expensive (relatively) which is a good thing because you'll need them.

The product works much better than other brands I have tried. Don't let the other lower reviews fool you. They are either because people thought they were buying more for the price or because people were unhappy with the price. If they are unhappy with the price then they should buy it somewhere else. That is the nature of an open/free market. When I read a review, I want to know whether the product works or not, whether the product is reliable or not. I want a PRODUCT review. I do my own research into prices (try PriceTrace or CamelCamelCamel to get price histories before you buy).

Having said that, this product works very well. It sprays evenly. It cleans without damaging the lens - assuming you are using a proper cleaning cloth (some prefer microfiber, others lint-free disposable cloths - I have used both with similar results). It doesn't leave streaks and it is not too thin (problem with cheap drugstore cleaners) or too soapy. And, for those that really want a price comparison as part of the review, I thought it was very well priced (three dollars including ship.)

The real thing

Makeit Camera Pocket Camcorder Webcam

Makeit Camera Pocket Camcorder Webcam

This book is funny and accessible. The setting is an island community where the season is short, there's an urgency to relaxation and where best intentions fuel a Fourth of July week that ends in comic disaster. You can read it in a few hours and come away feeling like you've been on a summer adventure.

The story is told by the characters, each of whom see the same events through their own lens. As the story intensifies, opinions galvanize. The rumor mill gets working. A vacation community scraps over each others' business. Fireworks abound. Deep down, The Fourth of July is a story about how motivation and belief can color one's view, what happens when we disagree, and how small and comical the world is. But even if simple stuff like stepping on a rake makes you laugh, you'll love The Fourth of July.

The 28-105 is an amazingly useful lens. Although not as fast as the 28-70, it's a lot smaller and lighter. This is important in order to be mobile. It is also an extremly sharp lens, capable of professional results. The close focus is useful and using it with a 12mm or 25mm extension tube yields super results as well. Mechanical and electronic functions are superb. The USM motor in the lens is virtually silent. Nice lens.

YOU'RE NOW TUNED INTO THE GREATEST...

Canon 24 70mm 2 8L Standard Zoom

Canon 24 70mm 2 8L Standard Zoom

I am a serious amateur with a highly technical and analytical background.
For someone like me purchasing this lens was a complex decision for several reasons:
#1 I prefer prime lenses to zooms based on past experience with primes. Zooms usually require some kind of sacrifice.
#2 I don't make money from photography, so the purchase had to be driven purely by my passion for photography and owning quality glass.
What pushed my buttons was that one reviewer said it replaced several of his prime L lenses. I found it hard to believe but with Amazons generous return policy in mind it seemed like a safe bet to try it out. I figured worst case I return it and get some primes instead.
I was not disappointed, and furthermore I was very impressed. It truly is an amazing piece of glass. Paired up with my 5D3 it never leaves the camera. It focuses lighting fast and with perfect accuracy no matter how poor the lighting conditions are. Sharpness truly is on par with primes. Color is splendid and bokeh is very good, however separating the subject at focal lengths lower than 50mm is very difficult with f2.8 (you have to be very close). I would not use this lens for portraits although it can be used for such purpose at the 70mm end (I prefer 85mm for portraits).
I highly recommend this lens, despite the fact it is expensive, you will not be able to find better in this category.

Got a bunch... They are a cheaper way than losing a lens cap.

Zeikos ZE LCH1 Lens Cap Keeper

Zeikos ZE LCH1 Lens Cap Keeper

I purchased the; Zeikos ZE-LCH1 Lens Cap Keeper to use with my New Tamron-Lens which mounts to my Sony a350...

This New Lens-Cap attachment and string thing is just like the other one I'd bought for my old Minolta 50mm lens...about 15 years ago... the old one still works Perfect.

The string that comes with it, is so strong, I'd bet that, if I wanted to,
I could also use it not only to floss with at fancy wedding dinners, but,
I could also use it Cut-The-Cheese.... that, I always ask my models to Say, just before I shoot them... Plus, sometime, if needed when shooting, blondes, kids and animals...
I will make sure to let it DaNgle by the Lens to get and keep my all of my subjects attention..!

It's very nice.. A Very Handy Lens Protecting Product, a Keeper.

If the string on my "Lens-Cap-Keeper" was a little longer...a parent might use one on a child... so that,
the kid wouldn't get lost while walking with me in Wall-mart.

Have A Great Christmas,

America Inventor Jack Hansen

Fantastic Camera, in and out of Water

Panasonic Waterproof Digital Camera Optical

Panasonic Waterproof Digital Camera Optical

I bought this camera for my wife as we had a baby on the way and our other camera was missing the charger. There are a few features of this camera I really like

1. Takes pictures extremely quickly. After pushing power it takes less than a second before you can take a picture
2. Picture quality is great.
3. Nothing protrudes from the camera the lens stays inside
4. It is waterproof and takes decent underwater photos.
5. Panoramic mode is neat and stitches the pictures together for you

It has a few features that are gimmicky as well. For example it wil attempt to recognize faces and insert the persons name into the picture. This doesn't work consistently. it has a lot of different pictures modes that seem odd as well. Like food picture mode and pet picture mode. I have tried them and they don't seem to do much.

This camera was a great purchase and would totally buy it again

Universal Anodized Aluminum Integrated Motorcycle

Universal Anodized Aluminum Integrated Motorcycle

This is a great compact little charging unit for the price. I use it mostly for my iphone and itouch units. It is solidly built and fits nicely in a compact camera case for travel or just keeping in the car. The built-in LED is a nice extra feature that I will rarely use, but nice to have just in case. The claim that the unit will charge your iphone 2-3 times per charge appears to be accurate as I tried it several times and got about 3 charges at the most (depending on how low your iphone battery is). It charges the iphone up pretty quickly but it does take much longer to charge up the unit, as others have experienced. Not a big thing as I can charge the unit up anytime when I'm not using it. Although there is a good variety of connectors included, I do wish it came with a iphone adapter so I don't have to use my own adapter. Otherwise, I would recommend this purchase to my friends.

Scanning B&W film

Plustek OpticFilm 7400 Film Scanner

Plustek OpticFilm 7400 Film Scanner

After 45 years of searching I found my lost transparency of Jimi Hendrix in 2010. I photographed Jimi in January 1967. I own all the copyrights. The condition of the photograph was very, very poor. I scanned the image on my original Plustek 7300 bought from Amazon and I have just upgraded to the 7400 recently. In the process of restoration I also had high end drum scans made but I found the Plusteck very clean and sharp and have used these images. I expect the people at Plusteck to fall over themselves when they see this photograph and see what their little machine can do. I have had a print acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London and the French glossy rock magazine 'Rock and Folk' just published the photograph on their cover September 2012.
I highly recommend the Plustek 7400.

Yours Sincerely

Mike Berkofsky

This fits the canon digital rebal, fisheye lens for canon eos digital

0 42X FISHEYE MACRO DIGITAL Camera

0 42X FISHEYE MACRO DIGITAL Camera

I was leery about buying this after I read some negative reviews, but I'm a professional photographer and have been wanting a fisheye lens for a while, but was worried that I wouldn't actually like the "fisheye" effect and I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars on a Canon Fisheye Lens before I knew for sure.
For this price, I figured even if it didn't work it'd be worth a shot. I just recieved my lens today and I'm incredibly impressed. Both the construction of the lens (it's heavy and has metal components) and quality of the images the lens captures are very impressive. Before you buy this, you need to realize that it is not a lens that will fit directly on your camera--it attaches to lenses you already have. I put it on my 50mm 1.2 and my 18-55mm. The fisheye effect is most prominent when zoomed out a bit, but the quality of this lens is GREAT and I'd say if you're wanting to try a fisheye, before you drop several hundred dollars, you might want to try this lens--you will not be disappointed!

Pyramex Unlimited Shooting Eyewear Anti Fog

Pyramex Unlimited Shooting Eyewear Anti Fog

This is my second set of glasses. I lost the first at an airport and of course will never see it again. I searched at many differnting sporting goods store and could not find a replacement. Thank goodness for Amazon.com! There are 5 different lenses for different degrees of sunlight. I use them for every day sunglasses and the colors of everything around you just pop. Never realized how many shades of green are around me. I live in north east Texas and the sun can be a killer! I especially appreciate them when I play tennis. It is much easier to see the ball and the wrap around design lets me use my periferal vision without getting blinded. I know they are supposed to be for hunting, allowing the hunter to see their prey better but that tennis ball can hide in shadows too!
