Fulcrum 20072 401 Magnifier Floor Lamp
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Amazon for the speed in which we received the Fulcrum Floor Lamp. After searching unsuccessfully many sites I finally found the lamp I wanted for a Christmas gift for my 93 father whose vision was becoming weak. At first we were told it would be delivered Dec. 24th but we actually received it a week in advance so that we could assemble and learn how to use. It was an amazing light! The quality is far above what I had expected. And my father was so delighted with it as he was an avid reader. Sadly my father passed away two weeks after Christmas. While cleaning out his apartment (he lived in a senior center) another tenant asked what we would be doing with the lamp. She assisted another elderly woman to the apartment whose vision was almost diminished. We brought her in and let her try the lamp. She was so moved at how well she could read a card, that she cried. Your lamp was a hit for the second time and we happily took it and her to apartment where she now is enjoying the gift of being able to read again. Thank you Amazon and thank Fulcrum 12 LED Magnifier Floor Lamp - you made two members of our "Greatest Generation" very happy.

We were looking for a floor lamp that could be brought closer to what you were reading. We were not disappointed. The magnifier was a nice touch. You do have to be careful about making sure the base is in the right direction or it can start to tip. Glad we bought it.
BalasHapusI bought this lamp for my great aunt and she cannot stop talking about it! She loves it for reading, crossword puzzles and her favorite hobby: needlepoint. It has a plug-in adaptor, but it also runs on batteries, so she can take it from the den to the bedroom to read at night. It's super bright and she can adjust it to whatever height she needs it.

BalasHapusI bought this lamp to help my eyes with needlework. I like to sit down and lean back in the sofa or chair when I work. The lamp/magnifier was very carefully packaged and included an AC adapter. The lamp comes in separate pieces that are easy to assemble with easy to follow instructions. The height of the lamp is just right for a seated position but can be somewhat modified by adjusting the angle and tilt of the gooseneck part, but it is not height-adjustable otherwise. The weight of the base is appropriately balanced and the lamp is light enough to carry or move around. The LEDs give off a smooth and strain-less glow. The magnifier is so powerful that I almost don't need my reading glasses. The on/off switch for the LEDs is placed on top of the lamp in a convenient location. I think that the product description provided on the Amazon site doesn't tell you that the LEDs cannot be replaced. However, they are supposed to last 10,000 hours which is plenty. Overall, very good product and excellent value.
BalasHapusI purchased this for my mother-in-law who had eye surgery and was unable to see well enough to hand quilt without using a magnifying glass. This lamp helped her tremendously. It provides not only concentrated light, but magnification so she can see to quilt. It frees up both hands. She loves it!

BalasHapusI bought this lamp after shopping around quite a bit to find a magnifying lamp for needlework. I selected this lamp because it has a large lens, it's easily adjustable, and the magnification level is just right for my needs. It was easy to assemble and works great.
BalasHapusMy 86 year old mom has tried multiple hand held magnifiers over the years, some lighted, some not, in her efforts to keep reading after a diagnosis of dry macular degeneration. We decided to try this lamp due to the combination of LED lights, gooseneck positioning, and the strength of the magnifier.
BalasHapusIn the month since the light was delivered my mom's life has expanded. She loves this light. With her hands free, she can work her large-print crosswords puzzles and is even reading magazines again. We are thrilled with the light and are so grateful that her quality of life is better because of it.
Our one wish for improvement with this light would be for a more weighty base for stability.

I thought I'd update my original review some 18 months after we originally purchased this terrific light.
Mom still loves her light, in fact, Thanksgiving day I overheard her tell a friend that it was her life saver. We've had no troubles with the light since it was purchased. The weight of the base hasn't been an issue for Mom and that is surprising because she is so wobbly.
I saw that it was on sale today and am thinking of buying it for my husband who also has vision troubles. I truly recommend this light to anyone needing hands-free lighted magnification.

Another update. Mom (now 89) still loves her light and uses it every day. No troubles with the LED lights, the base, or the gooseneck. Everything is still working perfectly. I'm so glad we purchased the light.
